About Glenn Wilson Studios

Glenn Wilson was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in the year of the fire monkey (so the funny little fellow in the top corner). Glenn established his studio, Glenn Wilson Photographics, in Brisbane in June 1976. Prior to this, he studied at the Queensland College of Art (now part of Griffith University), while working with a Professional Photographer in the printing industry, covering assignments for various magazines published by the printing house M.P. Graphics.

Glenn has held various positions on the Qld council of the A.I.P.P. (Australian Institute of Professional Photography) as membership officer, convenor of a state convention, co convenor of a North Qld convention, host & principal lecturer of a 3 day live in workshop for practising Professionals, guest speaker at several A.I.P.P. seminars, principal lecturer for a series of photographic workshops in Brisbane & the designer & convenor of a highly successful membership drive/one day seminar & trade show for the A.I.P.P. in which the state membership numbers increased by 60% on the one day.

Apart from the years of experience as a studio owner, Glenn has been an accredited member of the following organisations:

Glenn undertook a university course in business planning at the St Lucia campus of the Qld University at the Centre for the Development of Entrepreneurs (Q.E.W.) in the early 1990s. Shortly after, Glenn sold his city based studio in Brisbane (Sept 92) & took time off to write a business plan & research his new studio location, Mackay/Whitsundays North Qld. After a three month tour of Qld coastal & country towns (& studios), Glenn arrived in Mackay in January 1994 & opened the new studio Glenn Wilson Studios,  in May 1994.

Studio Facilities: prior to 2006

Glenn now operates from his home premises with a separate reception area, make up room & a 10meter x 20meter airconditioned studio shooting room at the rear & landscaped portrait gardens front & rear of the property. The studio is situated in a quiet street off a main road, only walking distance to the city heart.

A large percentage of the studios work is on location, however the studio shooting area is used for Product photography, Make overs, Children, Couples, Business press release, Family interior groups, Pets & formal Wedding groups.

Glenn Wilson Studios is equipped with  6x6cm equipment, 6x4.5cm equipment & 35mm equipment and some of the latest Digital camera equipment which is the main camera of choice these days.. The studio is also continually investing in computer technology with digital manipulation, & scans to CD.
